Now Hiring: Payroll Specialist
The Payroll Specialist will play an integral role in our continued growth and success and will be responsible for a variety of highly sensitive and confidential duties for all companies referenced below including, but not limited to, daily timecard auditing, weekly payroll processing, weekly 401K posting, familiarity with State & Federal Davis-Bacon Wage & Certified Payroll reporting, monthly Work Comp reporting, and other various quarterly reporting.

Alaska Barge Terminal LLC is one of our newest ventures providing Terminal Operations, Warehousing, Freight Forwarding & Handling, Large Vessel Haul Out, Vessel Moorage, Small Boat Storage, and Marine Vessel Support Services on the iconic Homer Spit.
Heritage RV Park LLC is a seasonal, full hookup RV Park overlooking Kachemak Bay & the Kenai Mountains, adjacent to the Nick Dudiak Fishing Lagoon on the Homer Spit.
Essential Job Functions
Maintain employee records in various payroll programs
Collect, review and record timesheets daily in Management Review spreadsheets
Maintain payroll deductions, deferrals, and withholdings for all employees
Process weekly payrolls and 401(k) deferrals for all companies
Maintain complete and organized payroll reporting records
Strong background in Davis-Bacon Wages and Certified Payrolls is a must
Weekly entry of Certified Payroll Reports – completed WH347 into RMS 3.0, AASHTOware
Manage quarterly reporting – 941, 940, SUTA, MSHA Exposure
Monthly Workers Compensation reporting for all companies; assist with yearly auditing
Completion of State Unemployment Audits
Manage and distribute year end W-2’s
Travel & Hotel arrangements for employees
Participate in special projects for streamlining processes as well as providing general support to Office Manager
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Advanced experience with Excel, Word, Outlook – higher level of experience in Excel is a must
Above average skill set with Windows 11 operating system
Maintain a strong attention to detail while providing high quality work and a tidy workspace
Strong analytical and thinking skills, as well as being resourceful in problem solving
Ability to work independently, proficient in multi-tasking, and be exceptionally organized
Effective communication & collaboration skills – verbally and written
Proficient with QuickBooks Online and Workforce, familiarity with iSolved People Cloud is a plus
Experience in handing sensitive and confidential information
4+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a construction firm environment
Willingness to work hard while maintaining a positive attitude in a high-paced environment
Must be at least 18 years old
Wage / Benefits / Work Environment
We offer an intimate, but typical office setting with a dedicated administrative team, opportunity for growth, an above average wage - $30 - $40/hr depending on your level of wizardry, 401k participation after 1 year of service, and a semi-flexible schedule.
